Friday Feature: The Full Spectrum

So, one of the things I want to do with this blog is to feature other awesome local sellers and their work. The first seller I am featuring is The Full Spectrum; a maker or the cutest hand printed t-shirts for women and babies I have ever seen. Seriously, I want everything she makes.

I first found The Full Spectrum while shopping the Downtown Farmers Market last summer and immediately fell in love with her shop. Throughout the summer, my family bought tons of her stuff. I just couldn't resist.

One of my very favorite designs is this poppy. The Full Spectrum has used this poppy on a variety of stuff and I want every one of them. I also love that she has bugs, owls, octopi, dandelions, and tons of other incredible styles.

Her baby stuff is equally awesome with everything from vintage rocking horses, pegasusi, and praying mantises. I really can't stand how cute everything is.

The only thing regrettable about The Full Spectrum is that the Downtown Farmers Market doesn't open till June, and it hasn't been warm enough yet here in Salt Lake to wear these awesome tees.

UPDATE: If you can't wait for June and don't want to order online, The Full Spectrum will be at Craft Sabbath the first Sunday in May at 315 East 300 South.

Tuesday Trendwatch: Lacy Knits

Another incredible trend I have noticed this spring, along with crochet, are lacy little knits. These open work knits offer a variation on crochet treads and are just right for warm spring days and hot summer night.

Hollister's spring line features this cute little sweater and this fun vest. Either of these would look great over a little tank or a swim suit at the beach.

Urban Outfitters
' line includes this cute cardigan that I think would look great with a pair of skinny jeans and heels.

Forever 21
also features a line of lacy knit sweaters including this cute little number, this adorable tank top, and this hot black beret.

I love all of these for summer with a short skirt, skinny jeans, and strappy sandals.

A note on finding these trends: Many of these sweaters and accessories are tagged as crochet while closer inspection reveals them to be knit. Knit and crochet really are not the same thing though they can sometimes produce similar looks. When searching for these trends, I found that searching the word crochet got me better results.

Spring in the City

Yesterday, an awesome shop called ZionShore featured my grey fingerless gloves in her Spring in the City treasury.

She also included a lot of other really cute stuff that you should check out. And, while you are at it, check out ZionShore's shop because she makes some positively delightful jewelry. My favorite is her bottle necklace.

April Showers Abound

April showers abound; and this isn't just a weather report. Last night, I created my own April Showers treasury list built around my April Showers scarf. I also featured some amazing products from some awesome sellers that you should check out.

As you may remember, TheLoudLion created an April Showers treasury last week also featuring my April showers scarf.

Not an hour after creating my April Showers treasury, I got a convo on etsy from Simply Suzula featuring my scarf in yet another April Shower treasury.

Will this trend ever end? I sure hope not.
